Healing Our Broken Hearts
This time of year dredges up much pain and sadness held in the recesses of our hearts. It is a profound opportunity to heal and transform those bruises into a lightened, expanded heart. Compassion is a fire that heals your own and another’s heart. Remember it is our minds that continue to batter our hearts by recurring thoughts that become a form of self-flagellation. Why do we hurt ourselves so? What if the reason the hurt was caused in the first place was not fully known to us? What if we have been whipping ourselves over and over again in error? Consider this so.
From our limited little human minds we have committed great error in judgement and for this we must forgive ourselves. For this we must forgive the others. For this we must give our pain in a giant golden bubble to the higher realms and ask for it to be dissolved and resolved in the light of transmutation. For this we must decide to release the pain and choose no longer to carry it with us another day, no longer to be reinjured by misrepresented thoughts, words or actions. We never really know, do we? We never know the full truth, but by choosing to release the weight and keep a light and open heart, it becomes able to be filled with new possibility. It becomes a hopeful heart.
So check in today – how is your heart? What shape and colour and density is it? Use the same power of your mind that has had the old habit of slashing and throwing dirt balls at it, to paint it with shimmering transparent light. Move out the old junk yard and plant some wildflowers. Use your mind to not even need to think about what is in there, just do the clean-up job and release it all with deep appreciation, for its work is done. Be here now. A heavy heart is an open heart, but we don’t need to learn that way anymore…an open heart is a heart capable of even greater love than we have ever experienced before. Let’s let that in. And then the real truth will come, because up until now, we couldn’t handle the truth – the real truth, that is. And then we can be free!
So say and feel with your open heart: I forgive myself. I forgive you. I am grateful. I effortlessly release the old and welcome the new with gratitude. I am hopeful, excited and free!
And it will be so.
